Introduction
Young talented graphic and new media designer, who has been in the design & print industry for over 5 years since
acquiring a graphic design degree from Lincoln university.
Immediately after leaving university I began gaining work experience in the fi eld of Graphic Design, unpaid when necessary. After working at Pro-Actif I felt I was capable of starting up Eclipse Concepts to handle the ever increasing volume of freelance jobs I was attaining from businesses ranging from the small trader to the national companies such as Barracuda Group and Lifestyle Fitness.
My experience has also seen me working for a variety of design agencies, print studios and working on a freelance
basis. Throughout this precious experience I have worked on projects varying from the average tradesman business
cards to the corporate branding and website of international companies, taking the same meticulous care and
attention for all projects alike.
Learning from previous employers and tutors, I’ve always endeavoured to produce a design that is not only above
all functional but also more than meets the expectations of the clients and high expectations of myself and my
colleagues.
I’m quite a passionate/competitive person and always pay great attention to my work, endeavouring for it to be the
best piece of work it can be. And I’m not easily distracted from any project.
I work as easily on my own initiative as I do with guidance or as part of a team. I’ve also had experience in
directing/teaching others as part of a larger design team. I give full commitment to any project/client and am
always willing to go that extra mile.
I’m a polite/easy going person who gets on well with every member of any team and clients. In previous roles I had
to constantly liaise with clients and gain their trust and friendship, which I believe leads to better communication,
which greatly aides the design process.
Also from working in the variety of agencies I’ve had the chance to work on my sales and marketing skills as I’ve
often had to generate my own sales/projects.
The marketing initiative also assists in the design process as I can now see how a feasible design can be used across
mediums and any possible problems that may arise before they happen.
As mentioned previous roles included generating sales, either it being by direct marketing or cold calling. The calls
aspect was bolstered not only by the usual skills involved with liaising with clients along with experience for seven
years as a barman/supervisor in bars across the country. This helped me develop my confidence whilst opening
avenues of potential work.
